Peachtree-Dekalb Airport (KPDK) should be a destination for Spartanburg pilots. There is a restaurant on the field and one adjacent to the field, easy access to MARTA, and several quality FBOs (I prefer Epps). I recommend KPDK for recently licensed pilots who are looking to hone their piloting and communications skills at a really busy, yet reasonably close towered G-A airport. KPDK has a challenging mix of turbojets, piston singles and twins, helicopters, and student pilots. Pilots must be vigilant when taxiing as runway incursion have been a problem due to four intersecting runways. The field is always busy and it is important for pilots to be on their "A" game when flying to and from this airport.
